Introduction and Set-Up
Introduction
DineChef is Kitchen Display System used to manage orders in the Kitchen using a digital display system instead of a printer. DineChef can be used in the kitchen to update the status of the preparation of the dishes on the orders.
Set-Up
In this section, we shall discuss how to connect the DineChef with DinePlan POS system. Sometimes the restaurant can have multiple POS systems and 1 KDS or DineChef. We shall understand how to set-up the KDS in such an organization as well.
START THE SERVER
STEP 1: Open the DinePlan POS, Go to Backoffice --> Settings --> Local Settings.
STEP 2: Click on the SERVICES on the Left Side and the following screen will appear and have to Select the IP ADDRESS of the System and Tick the Start API Server.
Local IP Address | Choose IP Address for the server. The DineChef Server will work on this IP Address. |
Local Port | Enter Local Port. By default, it will give you the Port 9090. |
STEP 3: Enter the relevant information as described in the table Above. Once the information is entered, click Save.
DINECHEF SETTINGS
STEP 1: Open the DineChef and go to Settings
STEP 2: Enter the relevant information as described in the table below. Once the information is entered, click Save.
Server | Enter the IP and port of the Server. The DineChef server will work based on this IP Address and Enter the Database Settings. |
Local | Enter the Local IP and port of the KDS. |
NOTE: When you have multiple POS systems, one of the POS systems will function as a server for the other POS systems and the IP address of the server POS is added in DineChef, Server details.
PRINTER SETTINGS
STEP 1: Go to POS. Go to Backoffice --> Printer --> Printers.
STEP 2: Choose the KitchenDisplay Printer and Edit.
STEP 3: Choose the Printer Type as Custom Printer and next Tab Choose Kitchen Display.
STEP 4: Click on Settings and the following pop-up editor appears. Enter the IP Address the Port details of the KDS system.
