DineConnect is an advanced application designed for restaurant management and optimization. This technical documentation outlines the process of mapping raw materials to menu items within the DineConnect application. The menu mapping functionality ensures accurate tracking of ingredients and facilitates efficient inventory management for menu items.
Menu Mapping Process
The DineConnect application provides a user-friendly interface to map raw materials to menu items. This process enhances inventory management and cost control within the restaurant operations.
Accessing Menu Mapping
Log in to your DineConnect account.
On the left side of the dashboard , locate and select the third icon labeled "Inventory". From the drop-down option, select "Manage" and choose "Mapping" option.
Mapping Raw Materials to Menu Items
The "Portion Mapping" screen displays a list of all menu items. Utilize the search bar to locate a specific menu item for raw material mapping.
Editing Menu Item Mapping
Click on the "Action" button corresponding to the desired menu item. And select "Edit" to initiate the mapping process for the chosen menu item.
Entering Raw Material Details
The "Portions" screen will be displayed, prompting the user to enter required details.
Begin by specifying the quantity of the menu item being mapped.
In the "Item name" tab, input the name of the raw material associated with the menu item.
Provide the quantity of the raw material required to prepare the menu item in the "Qty" tab.
Select the appropriate unit of measurement for the raw material from the "Unit" tab.
The cost of the raw material, which was previously added, will automatically populate in the next tab.
For Example
For instance, if mapping raw materials for the menu item "Chicken Tandoori," where "chicken" is the raw material:
1 raw chicken (1kg) is required to create 1 Chicken Tandoori dish.
Once the raw material item and the quantity has been entered and if the Unit is entered as “kg”, the cost of the item will automatically appear in the appropriate tab.
Adding Multiple Raw Materials
To include additional raw materials for the menu item, click on the "+" button.
This allows you to repeat the process of entering raw material details for each required ingredient.
Saving the Mapping
Once all necessary fields for raw material mapping are completed, click the "Save" button.
The raw materials will be successfully mapped to the menu item.
