Hardware Recommendations
Here are the recommendations for the Hardware for running DinePlan and its Modules
DINEPLAN SERVER
You need at least one PC computer to host the DinePlan database. This computer normally also has the DinePlan software installed, but this is not necessary. You can have just one computer. If the Location is running with one Terminal, one system is more than enough to run.
The Server should have Minimum of 4 GB RAM and above 2.5 GHZ Processor.
DINEPLAN TERMINAL
The terminal will be connected to the DinePlan Server. It should be a Minimum of 4 GB RAM and Processor is above 2 GHZ
DINECHEF TERMINAL
The terminal will be connected to the DinePlan Server. It should be a Minimum of 2 GB RAM and Processor is above 2 GHZ
TABLETS
DineFly runs on Android Phones or Tablets. The Minimum version recommended is 4.0
DineMenu runs on Android Tablets. The Minimum version recommended is 4.0
PRINTERS
DinePlan only supports Printer which has ESC/POS enabled. Most of the printer have a support already.
NETWORK HARDWARE
Using a wireless connection to connect computers and printers is not recommended. It’s better to use network cables to avoid connection problems at critical times.
Whenever we use DineFly or DineMenu or any wireless ordering in the Outlet, it is recommended to use the WIFI Extenders.
ADDTIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
Never buy used kitchen printer or server.
Setup POS software/hardware and test before production.
If you have multiple computers print to a printer, it must be Ethernet IP printer.
Do not share printers using Windows clients.
Buy pre-made network cables, unless you are an expert on network wiring.
Always use UPS batteries.
Do not run POS on Wireless network unless no other options are available. If you must run on Wireless network, buy enterprise WIFI network.
Try not to mix Windows versions (Not critical if you do).
FEW TIPS
Add exceptions to your Antivirus to not scan DinePlan folders and MS SQL Express folders.
Set static IP addresses for all Network Devices.
Modify local DNS file on all POS computers. Add all Network Devices IP and Name. http://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-xp-tips/edit-hosts-file/
