Work Day and Work Shift

To start the business and start accepting orders (to enable POS), it is necessary to begin the Workday and Work shift.

Note:

  • A restaurant can have any number of terminals to accept the orders and payment.

  • Work Day can be started from any of the terminals.

  • Work Shift has to be started in all the terminals which are accepting payment.

STARTING WORKDAY AND WORKSHIFT

Before the WorkDay and Workshift begins, POS and Tickets are unavailable to access as shown in the below picture.

 

Follow the below steps to begin the WorkDay and WorkShift.

STEP 1: Log in to the POS terminal, Click on "WORKDAY".

STEP 2: The below page opens up, click on "START WORKDAY" in the bottom left corner to begin the Workday.

 

STEP 3: Below pop up opens up, Click OK and the Workday will begin ready to accept the orders. 

 

STEP 4: On the "WORKDAY" page there is a button read as "WORKSHIFT", click on the button and below page opens, click on "START WORKSHIFT".

 

STEP 5: Add the Opening Amount. Click on "START WORKSHIFT".

 

Workshift will begin and POS will be available to access.

ENDING WORKDAY AND WORKSHIFT

WORKSHIFT

STEP 1: Go to "WORKSHIFT" page, in the right column has an option to "END WORKSHIFT" click on that, a pop-up appears for confirmation click on "YES".

 

STEP 2: Add the details of the transactions happened in that shift and "END WORKSHIFT". Open Till will open the Cash Drawer.

 

NOTES:

  • In the WORKSHIFT page, We have the option to "RESET WORKSHIFT" to resume the work shift if the work shift was closed.

  • The workshift page has the option to PRINT the shift's report.

 

WORKDAY

STEP 1: After the WORKSHIFT is ended, WORKDAY can be ended, Go to WORKDAY page, Click on "END WORKDAY" Button at the bottom.

 

NOTE: A Workday cannot be ended when tickets are open, there will be a message shown on the right column in a Workday page as shown below.

 

NOTE:

  • PRE ORDER and NON-PRE ORDER - IF Pre Order is enabled it will allow us to close the workday with Open Tickets.

  • If you ENABLE TRAINING then the real-time data is not synced to the server.

  • PUSH - This can be used to push the Data to Dine Connect if the Data is not synced due to any connection errors. Usually, when the payment is done the data is Auto synced to Dine Connect unless there are any connection errors, in such situations Push button is used to sync the data to the Dine Connect.

  • PULL - The changes in the items or promotions and other changes are usually done in the Dine Connect system.  When you click on the PULL Button all the changes can be synced to the POS system.

  • RESET - Reset option next to Refresh will reset the date to the current date.

The Admin button is used to go back to Home Page from any of the other pages.
