Products,
Products are final items or services that are provided to the customers. These products are created on Retail Connect and can be synced to Retail Plan.
Now let us understand how to create products on Retail Connect.
Create and Update Products
STEP 1: Log in to Retail Connect, go to INVENTORY --> PRODUCT. Here the list of all the existing products in the system will be shown. They can be filtered with the department, category, sub-category, brand, or vendor.
STEP 2: To create a new product, click on CREATE PRODUCT. The following page opens up, fill in all the details.
INFORMATION - Fill in the general details of the product.
Product Code - This is the Product Code for this product used for product identification.
Name - Product name
Alias Name - Alternative name where we can add a name in a different language if required.
Unit - This is the unit of measurement of the product.
Department - Select the department to which the product has to be added.
Category and sub-category- To associate the product to the category.
Brand - This the product brand.
Product Type - Select the product type.
Vendor - Add the vendor details.
Unit Cost - Add the per-unit cost of the product.
Average Cost - The average cost of the product.
Last Purchase Cost - This will be the last purchase cost of the product.
NOTE: Units, Department, Category, sub-category, Brand, Product Type, Vendors, etc can be created in different sections. Click on the links to understand how to create these elements on Retail Connect.
BARCODE - This is to insert a barcode for the product.
Add the barcode of the product.
UNITS - This section is to add the subunits for the product. Different units of measurements for this product can be added here.
VENDORS - Add the different vendor details for this product. If the product is bought from different vendors, then these vendor details and the prices at which these vendors are providing the product have to be added here.
Discount percentage and the discount amount will be the discount provided by the vendors to the business for this product.
CUSTOMERS - If the selling price of this product has to be customized for any particular customer then this can be done here.
Add the customer, Select the Customer Name, add the price and units, and Save.
Note: The Customers can be created in the Sales --> Customers section.
POS - In the POS section,
Edit Qty - When this is ticked it allows to edit the quantity of the product on the POS.
Price Edit - This is to edit the Price while ordering.
Loyalty - To enable the loyalty program for the product.
Allow Negative Stock - To allow the product stock to go to a negative value.
Salesman Required - If this is enabled the salesman is allowed to do the sales for the products. The commission percentage can be added in the Commission(%) sections.
CREATE CARTON
Suppose we want to sell the carton of a product, for example, If we have 200 ml Pepsi bootles, that we can sell individually or create a carton (bundle) of few products and sell at a different price, this can also be done on Retail Plan.
Now we will understand how to create a carton for the products.
Let us take the example of Pepsi. Pepsi is sold as individual bottles of 200 ml at S$3. And let us create a carton of 24 bottles at S$65.
STEP 1: Create a product as described above. Refer to the below picture. Select the unit according to the requirement. Here we have selected per bottle and Save.
STEP 2: Next, Go to the INVENTORY --> UNITS section. Here let us create a new unit for 24 units of the bottle like below.
STEP 3: Now go back to products and edit the product. Open the Unit section on the Product page.
STEP 4: Select the Unit. Then click on CREATE CARTON BUNDLE button.
STEP 5: After creating the bundle, click on Edit to edit the price for the carton product.
STEP 6: This new product is created. Here, Add the Selling Price for the Carton. Edit any other details if required and Save the new product.
NOTE: To view the Carton go to INVENTORY --> PRODUCT BUNDLE. Check on the CARTON BUNDLE check box. Here, you can see the Cartons created. You can edit or delete the cartons created here.
