Unit,
Unit is the Unit of measurement for the products. The units section allows us to create these units of measurements for the products/items we are creating or adding into the system.
The UOM is a very important criterion in the retail business as all the inventory is managed using numbers and quantities, And units are an integral part of these measurement processes.
Examples of units can be a number of things, grams, liters, kilograms, dozens, pieces, gallons, count, etc.
In this document, we will understand how to create these units of measurements.
Create and Update Units
STEP 1: Go to INVENTORY --> UNIT section. Here you have a list of units. You can export the list to an excel sheet. The units can be edited or deleted as well from the same page by clicking on the respective actions in the actions column.
STEP 2: Click on CREATE UNIT button to create a new unit. This pop-up opens.
STEP 3: Add the Name. If this is the base unit add, check the Base Unit check-box.
No of Units - You can add the number of units of product to make this a unit one.
Ex 1: Dozen. 12 units of the product become a dozen.
Ex 2: Pack of 5 items into a carton becomes 1 carton.
STEP 4: Save the Unit. This unit can be associated with the Product while creating the product.
NOTE: Now, to create cartons or bundles, we can add the second unit of measurement in the Units section on the Products page as shown below.
This way we can use the units section to create the units of measurements for any type of Product on the POS.
