This article provides information on creating categories for new menu items and raw materials in DineConnect. Categories help organize your menu and make it easier for your staff and customers to navigate.
Why create categories?
Creating categories allows you to group similar menu items. For example, you can create categories like Starters, Main Courses, Desserts, and Beverages. By grouping menu items and raw materials into these categories, it becomes easy to locate desired items without having to search through a long list of options.
How to create categories:
Creating categories in DineConnect is a straightforward process. Here are the steps to follow:
Open the DineConnect software and log in to your account.
On the left side of the Dashboard, under the “Connect” option, click on the “Menu” tab and select the “Category” option.
Click on the "Create Category" button.
Give your category a name and code for the group of menu items. For example, if you are creating a category for Chinese food, you can name it "CHINESE" and give a code “CH”.
Save the category using the “Save” option.
Once the category is created, you can find it under the list of categories. Type “CHI” in the search bar to find the CHINESE category.
